Future Plans: An additional 2.2 miles are under construction.  On the west side, White River Greenway, which now ends at the Nichols Avenue Bridge, will be extended west through Westside Park, under the Tillotson Avenue Bridge to the river overlook across from the city's wastewater treatment plant near Hawthorne Drive.  On the east side, the trail will be extended east to the Craddock Wetland Preserve near the former Indiana Steel and Wire factory, which is being demolished.  The trail is also being widened through the Minnetrista campus.

New trail is also being installed through McCulloch Park. Currently, the trail shares McCullough Boulevard with vehicles, including the curving, narrow bridge over Muncie Creek and under the railroad overpass. The bridge is being rebuilt.
