Surface: asphalt, except for about 100 yards of limestone west of Schenck Road

Length: 4.4 miles in 2 separate sections

Descrption:
Begins behind Crawfordsville High School on eastern end. Follows a hilly stretch of SR32 and connects to R R Donnelley & Sons on west edge of city while meandering along a branch of Sugar Creek. Trail has a short (but confusing, see map link below) shared-road route between the Donnelley trailhead and the 2.2 mile western section, which follows the former Conrail corridor. A short limestone "rail-with-trail" leads into a multi-use 10' asphalt trail. This section is a first-class example of a rail-trail through a rural, wooded area. Near the western end is the Rock River Landing trailhead, near Sugar Creek. The trail's dramatic western terminus is the west bank of Sugar Creek, across the scenic NUCOR bridge.

Manager:
Crawfordsville Parks & Rec

Future Plans: The trail will be extended another 1/2 mile to the west.
