Descrption: Most of this trail follows the former Terre Haute, Brazil & Eastern (also Vandalia) RR, an abandoned east-west line which connected to Indianapolis. The Twigg rest area serves as an historically remarkable trailhead (see below). The trail continues as a bike lane west of 13th Street, then picks up as an interesting urban pathway along 4th Street beside the ISU campus.

Manager: City of Terre Haute

Future Plans: This east-west trail is a part of the cross-state National Road Heritage Trail initiative, which will connect to Indianapolis and Richmond for a total of over 150 miles.

Phase III will add an intersecting north-south trail, known as the Deming Park Pathway, linking North High School, Ohio Blvd., Deming Park, and Dobbs Park.
