to the Monon Greenway in Carmel, the Fall
Creek Trail, and the Central
Canal Towpath.
To reach the unique Massachusetts Avenue shopping and restaurant district
from the south end of the trail, turn west at 10th Street and then south
on Bellefontaine. To reach the west side of downtown, to connect
with the White
River Trail and Indy Zoo at White River State Park, use St. Clair
Street.
It is also quite easy to reach the ever-popular Holliday
Park from the Monon: take 75th St west (sidewalk), College Ave south
(sidewalk), 70th Street west, Broadway Street south, and Arden Drive southwest.
From a small trailhead at Arden Drive and US31 called the Blickman
Educational Trail Park, a dirt and boardwalk trail leads west under the
highway to the base of Holliday Park along White River. The
total trip is less than 2 miles.

Descrption: Part
of the Indy Greenways network, this immensely popular landmark rail-trail
traverses a remarkable variety of landscapes, neighborhoods, and trail
features including Nora, the White River, Broad Ripple, the 64th Street
Depot, and the State Fairgrounds. Plenty of trail services exist in Nora
and Broad Ripple including parks, drinking fountains, restaurants, ice
cream shops, and bicycle shops. Connects to the Carmel
portion of the Monon Trail north of 96th St., where it is called the
Monon Greenway.
Future Plans: Future
connections northward from Carmel to Westfield,
Sheridan, and the Cool
Creek Trail. A major connection between its south end at 10th
Street and the Cultural
Trail is planned.
