It is not connected to the Marion/Jonesboro section, but is planned to connect to the Richmond section in the future, bringing total contiguous trail mileage to around 52 miles. The trail is a portion of the American Discovery Trail.  A 10-mile dirt parallel horse trail is provided between the Mt Pleasant trailhead and Losantville, with access to several more miles of horse trail around Prairie Creek reservoir.
