Paved rail-trail which sits atop a former NYC rail line and follows an active CSX rail line along the scenic Ohio River. A new bridge covers Wilson Creek in Aurora and an 1882 refurbished historic bridge now spans Tanners Creek near the halfway point between Aurora and Lawrenceburg. Going east toward Lawrenceburg, trail users pass cultivated fields of corn, often populated with deer, and a densely wooded section. Wildlife in the area include beaver, deer, foxes, and shorebirds. The A-L Trail will also have a trailhead in Aurora at Lesko Park and follow existing through streets through historic downtown Aurora, passing two structures that are on the National Historic Register - Hillforest House Museum and the George Street bridge. The trail will continue on George Street, before connecting to Manchester Landing and the former rail line along the Ohio River.

Greendale’s portion of Dearborn Trails will run for approximately one mile and be situated atop the levy parallel to U.S. 50. It will also follow a former NYC rail line and end at the entrance to Argosy Casino and Hotel.

Manager: City of Aurora

Future Plans: A 1 mile connector to Greendale is planned.
